I Just Don't Buy the Whole Ed Norton Thing

So Marvel just announced that for the Hulk sequel, aptly titled The Incredible Hulk, Ed Norton will be taking on the role of Bruce Banner. Now, I was initially not a huge fan of Ang Lee's original. Sure it looked beautiful, but it just took waaaaaaay too long for the green giant to show up and start ripping things apart. I believe his most quoted line of dialogue is "Hulk SMASH!" and there just wasn't enough of that.

Upon a few more repeated viewings, I learned to appreciate the subtleties of the film and the character building, but it still moves at a snail's pace.

That being said, I really don't care what they do with this next installment in the series, so long as they don't spend another two hours yakking again. But I've got to just come out and say it: I don't see the big deal with Edward Norton. "But he was awesome in Fight Club and bla bla bla..."

Whoopdee - doo. The guy can fill in a role, I guess. The thing is, he is exactly the same character in EVERY SINGLE MOVIE. Guess what? I'm not wrong. Go watch all those "killer" films that he's in successively and you'll come to the same conclusion. If you don't, then you're an idiot. I'm sorry.

So he's going to play Bruce Banner now... whatever. Does anyone see this guy turning into a giant green mutant and ripping the heads off of kittens? Didn't think so. But Marvel did a great job with X-Men 3 and Electra and Ghost Rider. (that's a lie)

So to reiterate my feelings on this, I'm going to use an even smaller font:

whatever...
